Pumpkin Patch

We took a trip to the pumpkin patch to get our pumpkin and to enjoy the beautiful fall weather. It was a fun little outing! Of course we had to take lots of pictures...

Clayton's Birthday Party

We waited until we had family here to celebrate Clayton's first birthday. I don't think he minded waiting two weeks, and it is much more fun to share with other people.  He loves animals, so I decided to make a monkey cake.  

 Jack & Mom very patiently picked out all the little colored confetti circle sprinkles from the plain chocolate ones so I could use the chocolate ones for the monkey.

The finished cake.  The big cake for us to eat, and the little mini monkey for Clayton to destroy.

 

I love this face:

 Signing "more! more! more!" He loved the (soy) ice cream!

 I'm not sure what this face is about, but it is cute :)

Corn Maze

We decided to go to a corn maze while my parents were here....there were about 10 in the area to choose from, so we picked this one because it was $2/person cheaper than the others with the online coupon and because it had a zip line.  When we got there we learned that this was the first year they'd done this...it was pretty good for being the first year, but the whole corn maze aspect of the corn maze was pretty pathetic.  The zip line made up for it though I think.

Clayton took his first ride on a zip line!  I had him in the snuggli baby carrier thing and we put the tether between baby and me and went for it!  He didn't love it, but he didn't cry either, so that is a good thing I guess.  I think the sound of it zipping down the line kind of frightened him a bit, but he was ok.  I had fun :)  I probably had more fun on the runs I took without him because I could bounce and spin and stuff, but this was memorable.

On the hay ride on our way to the zip line and other activities...

Everybody loves a good stick-your-face-through-the-hole-for-a-picture boards, right?  ...these, however, left a little to be desired.

Jackson wouldn't go on the zip line, but he had fun playing and watching us...

My Dad's favorite part was the little go-carts.

Visit to Kellogg's

Friday, October 14

At the top of  the to-do list while my family was visiting was a tour of the Kellogg's plant where Jack works.  I wasn't able to go because someone had to watch the little people but Dad, Mom, and Ryan got a royal tour by Jack.  Of course no cameras are allowed in the production area, but here they are in their orange "visitor" garb. 

They look good in orange, eh?
