Master Jack

He did it!  After two years of hard work, little spare time, minimal sleep, and a ton of great memories, Jack graduated from Brigham Young University with a Masters of Business Administration.  It was definitely a bitter-sweet few days as we celebrated this great achievement and the end of such a unique and wonderful time in our lives.  Way to go, Jack!

We went to PF Chang's with Jordan & Shawn, Jack's parents, and Grandpa and Grandma West to celebrate. ...it was nice to visit with everyone, but as you can see in the picture above, we were reminded that eating out with two little people can make the evening a little less relaxing and enjoyable.

...there are a ton more pictures, like all the ones with friends after graduation, but this post has already been two months in the making, so I'm just posting it as-is.

A few more from Easter

We went up to Bountiful and went to the Easter Egg Hunt at the Legacy House where Grandpa Rushton lives... we were a few minutes too late to get in on the hunt (have you noticed a theme with my lame-ness? Oh well.)

But we still saw the Easter Bunny

And Jackson had a pancake breakfast with Grandma Shirts & cousins
And we visited Grandpa Rushton
And an exhausted boy fell asleep in the car

Thanks to Grandpa Shirts, Jackson did get to dye eggs this year.

Grandpa & Jackson.  Their matching outfits were totally unplanned.  In fact, I didn't even notice until I was already taking the picture.

Playgroup Egg Hunt

We had a little Easter Egg Hunt with our playgroup...and it is a good thing we did, too, because it ended up being the only egg hunt we did.  We didn't even take family pictures on Easter Sunday. Pathetic, I know, but I've gotten over it.  Nothing that can be done about it now anyway.

Jackson & Clayton and crew before the hunt...

It took some coaxing to get Jackson to find the eggs at first, but then he caught on.  He was on the younger end of the egg hunting crew so it was a good thing we had each kid find only a certain number of eggs.  Jackson was just starting to get into it by the time the other kids were done.

I'll have to take pictures of their baskets together even though I didn't get pictures of them on Easter.  I'm kinda proud of myself---I started AND finished a project, and finished it a week before the deadline.  I made the liners for their baskets.  You can see Jackson's in the pictures here, and Clayton's is a round basket (Jackson's is an oval) and has the same polka dots inside, with green stripes on the outside.

The best two years...

Wow.  Are we really at the end already?  I can hardly believe this whole MBA experience will be over in just a few days.  It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...  Ok, so it really wasn't the worst of times at all.  Yes, it's been busy and hectic and we haven't always seen as much of each other as we'd like, but it has been such a great experience.  I wish we could hold on to this time a little bit longer, but I guess it is time to move on.

Here are some highlights of the past two years (at least ones I have pictures of!)

Here is the class of 2011 when the were just beginning in the Fall of 2009.

Jack on his first day of school

Watching a BYU football game

Halloween party our first year

Jack's trip to China for his field study course in April 2010

China again in with a bigger group in May 2010

Internship with Goodyear in Ohio, Summer 2010

Take-your-kid-to-school day.  Ok, I think I had a doctor's appointment or something so Jackson got to hang out with Dad at school, but he was cute with his little backpack just like daddy.

Jack with his good friend Jay at one of the many opening socials

And a big highlight of 2010, Clayton joining our family

Some school chums over for dinner, Jay, David, and MC

With Cosmo after a basketball game

Trip to Europe in February 2011 for his International HR class (see, school has been really hard...)

Checking out the area in Cary, NC when we flew out for the interview with Kellogg's and got an offer

Marriott School "Fast Break" family fun thing

Jack took a trip to NYC for a LDS MBA Conference two weeks ago.
