Noah and the Dump Truck

Jackson loves this dump truck. It was sitting on the bookshelf in his room for a long time, just waiting for him to be old enough to play with it. About a month or two ago he saw it and wanted it, so I put it on the floor for him. I thought he still wasn't really old enough to really play with it---doesn't it look like it's for a 2 year old at least? In fact, this is the one toy my 5 & 3 year old nephews request when they come over because it's the only "bigger kid" toy that we have. But Jackson LOVES it. It can keep him entertained for a long time. Lately he's been having fun putting the animals & Noah from a toy Noah's ark into the bed of the truck. He puts them in, drives them around the family room, dumps the bed of the truck, then starts all over. He even uses the lever to move the arms up and down.
He had another favorite little dump truck that bit the dust at our recent Rushton family reunion (post on that forthcoming). He drives around his little cars and trucks and has so much fun with them.
Whenever he hears the garbage truck coming or the lawn guys out cutting the grass, he heads straight for the door to watch the action. Sometimes I'll take him outside on Tuesday mornings to watch the garbage truck do it's thing up and down the street and he is mesmerized. It's kinda funny and really cute.
Hmm...maybe I need to get him a doll to balance things out. He'd probably just give it a ride in the dump truck.

It's funny how little boys seem to intuitively know how to play with trucks. Very cute!

Our dolls end up in (sometimes under) the dump trucks or tractors all the time. It's fun to hear the little guy I babysit make car noises.
