geography lesson

I went to Macey's today. I think Macey's is my favorite grocery store, but now that I live in Orem, I don't go there as often. I don't like the layout of the Orem store as much as the Provo one, and I like the convienence of one-stop shopping at Wal-Mart. But I was driving past Macey's today and needed bread (we always get the Macey's bakery bread...very good and cheap).
Anyway, I went to Macey's today. I was going to be quick so I left Jackson in his carseat and brought the whole thing in and put it in the back of the cart. I fit all my food around him, no problem. As I was checking out, the bagger put my bags in an empty cart, but I still had the car seat in my cart. So the guy pushed the grocery cart out to the car for me while I pushed Jackson. He saw my Georgia liscence plate and said, "Are you from Georgia?" Yes, I am. "That's in Florida, isn't it?" Umm, no.

Haha! That's like the time I went to a music camp in Tennessee. Someone asked me where I was from. I replied,"Idaho".
"Oh...hmmm, that's great. What state is that in again?"

Oh brother!

this is why Americans are called "dumb Americans" when they travel overseas.
Also, when I read that you left Jackson in the carseat, I thought you meant you left him in the carseat in the car. I totally panicked and didn't want to read the rest of the story because I was afraid it'd be about his heat stroke or something. I'm glad you know your states and you know not to leave your baby in the car. Or toddler.

I also thought at first that you left him in the car! that would have been terrible. And that is really embarrassing that the kid didn't know GA is a state

what!? who says that and why would he think a license plate would list a city and not a state. That's funny.

...no, I didn't leave Jackson in the car :) I just usually take him out of the car seat if we're going to be longer in the store because he doesn't like to stay in it in the cart...but if we're quick, I bring in the whole car seat/infant carrier thing.
