The promised update

So, after emailing all of my roommies and giving a gentle reprimand to encourage them to update their blogs, I have decided that I'd better do it myself too.

On Friday night Jack and I were just sitting on the couch talking and all of a sudden I jumped up, full of excitement and pure joy with the realization that----there would be no alarm clock going off in the morning! I really just can't even express how happy that makes me. Not that we usually sleep in all that late...I generally at least wake up, even if I don't get out of bed, before 8. But just knowing that there would be no alarm clock and NO reason to have to get out of bed early (no work!!) can really make a girl happy!

So, Saturday morning rolled around, and we slept in. It was just a wonderful, lazy, get stuff done around the house, go to the grocery store, take a nap in the middle of the day kind of day.

A family that used to be in my branch in Georgia was out here to bring their son to the MTC, so we had them over for dinner on Sunday. Jordan and her boyfriend Shawn came too. It was fun to visit with the Robinsons.

I don't think I've ever made a roast & all the fixings for dinner and actually had everything be warm when it is time to eat it. I did start the mashed potatoes in time so they were ready when we were and were still warm...but the carrots were cold. :( Oh, and the rolls were done as we were finishing dessert, but I knew going into it that they wouldn't make it in time for the rest of the meal. Oh well.

Jordan and Shawn stayed to play games and visit & we had fun. It was the first time Jack & I met Shawn. He seems like a nice enough guy. He'll probably read this, so what else can I say? Just kidding, he really is a nice guy. This is us, playing Scategories.

The Robinson's brought out a big suitcase from my mom that was filled with baby paraphernalia. I felt like it was Christmas, opening that and going through all the goods with Jack. It was fun to remember Ryan and Amy using those toys. The funnest thing was the little baby outfits. They were all yellow or green or otherwise gender-neutral. But it was just so fun to realize that we're going to have a little tiny person to fit in those clothes in a few months! Here's all the loot!

Oh, and just for a baby update... well, I haven't seen the Robinson's since New Year's and I hadn't seen Jordan for probably 2 or 3 weeks. One of the firsts thing Sister Robinson said when she came in was "You've got a little baby bump there!" and when Jordan walked in it was "Sister! You have a belly!" So, apparently it's apparent. Every day I mean to take profile pics, but I only remember when i'm already in my pjs and ready for bed. Maybe today will be the day. Then I'll post them tomorrow.

One week until the ultra sound! Hopefully we'll have a little cooperation in there so we can get a clear view and quit referring to our baby as "it"...

for the record, I've been referring to the baby as "the baby" not "it".

Sister!!! I'm so happy you updated your blog! I check your blog probably twice a day and I was tired of reading the little chain email type thing that you had posted. I was very excited to see that I made it in your post!

Oh, so I enlarged the picture of your goodies from mom and I found a surprise for me!!! The dance bag says on it "Happy Easter Jordan!!" Yay! I got a gift!

Oh, speaking of gifts in the mail. A long time ago, mom said that she mailed you a package that had a sweater in it for me... am I ever going to receive the sweater??

Anyways, Shawn keeps bugging me to ask you when we get to play games again! Silly boy! I am not a big 'gamer' but he knows that I'll do it if we're with you and Jack so he keeps bugging me to let him hang out with yall. ha ha. Plus he really likes you two too. ha ha two too.

Okay. This is long.

I love you Natalie and Jack.

<3 Jordan

I've been calling the baby a 'she.' Because you're so having a girl.

haaaa I think that's so funny that Jordan saw she had an Easter surprise by enlarging the picture :) --and about the package I sent over a month ago?? hmmm
You should have arranged those baby things so we could see them better in the picture ;) It was like your own private baby shower from Mom!! Wish I could have been there. It was so fun packing the stuff --thinking of you and Jack opening it. :)
