To do list

I made a list months ago entitled "To Do Before the Arrival of Little Boy." I found the list the other day and just had to laugh. The list included things such as pack hospital bags (check), find a pediatrician (check), wash baby clothes (kind of check...I did the newborn & 0-3 month stuff), set up bassinet (check), buy car seat (check), install car seat (check)....
...and then there were the things that I was doing ahead of time that I'd have to finish after baby came, like the birth announcements. I designed 4 different options using some digital scrapbook software---I had those all ready to go, just needed to add the pictures and the birth date, weight, etc. I even have all the envelopes addressed, waiting to be stuffed. But I still haven't finished the announcements. And at this point I probably won't. He's almost 7 weeks old now. Is it too late? Sure, there is the one that we emailed to people and posted on the blog, but that wasn't going to be the real one. I was going to take some cute, posed newborn baby pictures. That never happened. A friend took some a few weeks ago but I don't have those back from her yet. So that project isn't done.
And there are a few things on the list that I didn't get done before Little Boy was born and not a single one of them is done. Ok, one is, but I didn't do it. Finding a blessing outfit---but my mom did that one (thank you Mom!). The rest, like getting the crib ready and setting it up, is not done yet.
Life has been busy, what can I say?
