Action Jackson

Yep, Jackson is crawling! I think we could consider yesterday (Sunday, May 24) as his first day really crawling. I'm so torn in so many ways about it---of course, it is exciting that he's learning new things and so fun to see him develop. I'm also grateful that he can learn and develop. And it's kinda nice that he can get what he wants now without needing me to scoot things closer. But at the same time it's kind of sad that my baby is growing up...and then there is the dread of having a mobile baby who can get into everything! We've just barely started baby-proofing and we have a ton more to do. We'd better do it fast!
Jackson still isn't very fast but I'm sure that is just a matter of days. Sometimes gets a little confused on how to get his legs to cooperate and move how he wants them to and it's kind of funny to watch. But he can officially crawl! Check it out for yourself:
(and, as always, ignore my silly sounding narration!)

5/27/09: It took me three days to get the video to post...since then, he has gotten much better. It looks like it takes a lot less effort to get where he wants to go and he's getting a little faster. Time to put up the gate on the stairs!

That was so cute to watch. The nose dives every time he'd stop to listen to you were pretty funny.
Yeah, Jackson!

Oh my goodness, that was so cute! I'm glad I got to see a little bit of the crawling in person on Monday. I need to see him again!!

Hopefully I'll see you tonight or tomorrow so we can go shopping :-)

Yay for Jackson! It's so cool to see how he's growing up. I can't imagine how awesome--and occasionally hard--it must be to see your baby turning into a little boy!

Her water broke this morning (5/29) and she started having contractions about an hour later. As of right now she's checked into the hospital and we're wating word!

Yeah Jackson. The gates never worked well for David as he learned to scale/climb them pretty quickly. (Hey remember the crib thing at girls week...with 2 little boys?) However with Wilson they just kept getting a bit higher since he wasn't much of a climber.

Good job Jackson! I think it takes a lot of strength and coordination to crawl on all fours like that--and even more so with the pants falling off! :) Caleb still prefers the army crawl if he's not standing.
