Google Reader

I just think everyone out there in BlogLand should know about Google Reader. For those of you who are unaware, you put in all your frequently checked blogs and then it compiles everything into one place. So whenever anyone on your list makes a new post it will update you and let you know about it. You have the option to read it right there in Google Reader (though you don't get the formatting, backgrounds, and option to comment) or to click a link to their blog. I opt for the latter usually. If you use the iGoogle home page rather than the traditional page, you can add a gadget for Reader so it'll all be right there, along with gChat, gmail, and whatever else you want. I'm a fan. You should be too. Check it out.

By popular demand...
To add people's blogs to your list, you click on "Add Subscriptions" in the green box on the left side, then type in their blog address and whose blog it is. It'll compile all of their posts there. The first time you add it it'll show all of the old posts, but you can click "mark all as read" if you want to clear it.

how will I kill time at work when I run out of things to edit? Half the fun is surfing and being surprised when people update.

Yeah, I struggled with the same thing Molly, but it won't check blogs that have restricted access like Starla's, so you still have to check those on your own.

oh! that's why I couldn't get it to work with my own or my sister's. (We both have restricted access.)I still think it's great though
